Do You Really Want Financial Independence?

Date February 22, 2008

financial independence is in your handsOne of the most memorable times was when I first ‘awakened’ from a kind of dream which literally had me pretty excited. I was just 24 years old and starting out with practically my car loan debts. My dream consisted of me with a handy laptop travelling to France. Mind you, that was like 5 years ago! As in my previous post, you’ll know that I just got back from Europe.

My encouragement to you = Financial Independence is indeed an achievable dream to just about anyone.

If you’ve been concerned by the recent news of the global US recession or just the fall of share and property prices, you’re not alone. In fact, you might even think, “Gosh, we’re in the midst of a looming financial crisis and yet here is Vern talking about how to become financially independent!”. My take is this. Yes, there is bound to be market upswings and downswings.

However, the world economy still goes on.

People are still purchasing everyday consumer goods. Eggs, milk, rice, pasta sugar, petroleum, natural gas… I could go on and on but you get the picture. Likewise in any business such as educational and electronics business there is opportunities to be found in the midst of uncertainty. Your mission is to open up your mind and see a whole new world of upcoming possibilities to bring income into your monthly cashflow.

Now, I know it may sound absurd but let me share with you a few things about getting your mindset right for good opportunities. Its just a mixture of the experience I had when I successfully invested in stocks plus a little bit of online success in my humble beginnings.

Tip #1: Everyone will follow the herd, but you must take your stand. Now, such as my investment in a share. About 1.5 years ago I wanted to invest in a company listed on the stock market. They were crying stuff like, “go for gold, go for real estate, go for oil”. I sat in amazement in one particular stock I was watching which was in the low range and no one was paying attention just because it was not the “hottest” trend in the market. Its a timber company and they had a good business in the palm oil industry.

To cut the long story short, I bought quite a few shares and fast forward a year later I’d sold it at almost 100% profit. Taking your stand is really rewarding. In other words, try to follow your own core beliefs than the herd.

Tip #2: You can’t be financially independent without financial understanding. Financial independence is your end destination. Otherwise, you won’t be reading this. Ok, lets say you want to get on the road and drive your way towards the golden path that leads towards financial freedom.

Like all journeys, it will be long and winding. Sometimes you will have a few flat tyres and need of toilet breaks. This is exactly why you want to prepare yourself and equip youself as much as possible to avoid pain along the way. You can do this by picking up some knowledge about financial management or start planning your financial goals.

Invest in a few courses or books on getting adequate financial knowledge in order to know your current situation. You can then craft a plan from there.

Tip #3: Don’t push yourself too hard, Take it one step at a time. We are all humans and unlike robots we have soul and a mortal body. So, taking good care of yourself is not a sin. Make sure when you put yourself to work or pursue opportunities, you also apply balance in your schedule for family and recreation.

I know of a friend who eagerly got started affiliate marketing and ended up being sick for about once a week down with cold and fever. I mean, yeah sure you could definitely say that you’re working for your financial freedom, but then again… whats wealth when you are lying flat out of energy on your couch when the sun is shining beautifully outside?

Enjoy your life one day at a time and be sure to know that your business is meant to take care of you. Not the other way round. Get it set up, do some serious affiliate marketing on your own planned hours, then let it run on its own!

I bid you the very best in your hunt for timely opportunities to increase your income manifold!

    Hi Stuart,

I’m just glad to be of help. Clickbank is really free to start but you will have to becarful about what you promote. These days anyone could just put up a website and sell stuff.

However, it should be any affiliate marketers’ mission to actually contribute to society by guiding others towards the right product. Product that the buyer is looking for and benefits them.

    Cheers,
    Vern
