What The Heck Is Social Bookmarking?

Yes, I’ve battled with this for just over a few weeks and even if social bookmarking has been on the scene for quite awhile I never really bothered using it. Until recently…

 So, the main argument still persists and I observe that there is really a lack of people who understands what social bookmarking is all about.

Quite simply, in my terms (because I like it really simple and fast):

Social Bookmarking is a website which acts like your Browsers bookmarking option or your favourites if you’re using IE.

Social bookmarking sites literally organize their content using tags. 

The reason why this is popular even in the affiliate marketing world is simply because they help generate traffic really fast. Much better than the average word of mouth I must say.  

In short:

Social bookmarking sites are an increasingly popular way to locate, classify, rank, and share online resources through tagging and references drawn from grouping and analysis of tags.

Well, they’re called “chicklets”. You can create a chicklet manually. However, I’d recommend that if you got a Wordpress blog like mine. Just grab the plugin for social bookmarking.

Now, don’t give up on me just yet. I thought that this has got to do with SEO as well. 

Thing is, while social bookmarking may generate some traffic for you, your content must be one of quality. In return, it will then justify for others to ‘endorse’ your site. 

You could definitely get a fairly decent amount of traffic just by the power of multiple endoursements alone. But the problem is you simply cannot get on the top search engines rankings this way. 

So, what does it have to do with you getting your site good traffic? 

“Provide good content and write as natural as possible”
